Real Life: Unicorn

Jennifer & Joshua’s Magical April Wedding

25th & 26th April 2018

“We had a woodland feel to our day with lots of untreated woods, a neutral colour palette and various types of foliage, combining  as much texture as possible”

“We also tied in Josh’s love for Harry Potter and my love for Unicorns (which we can now all agree are definitely real!) with small details such as the groom party’s socks, our confetti cones (made from pages from Harry Potter books), bespoke musical guest book box and last but by no means least, a real, miniature unicorn called Day Break”.

“Pink Rannunculus, Cream David Austin roses and Borage added the colour into the day. This all tied in perfectly with the pink tweed of the men’s suits. As well as this the Borage, which went into our welcome drinks, featured as my “something blue”!”

“We wanted a English country/farm style wedding, which would surprise most people as I am definitely not your typical “country living” girl!

We had trawled the net for venues and there were only 2 that really fitted what we wanted.

Trevenna blew the competition out of the water and you only need to visit once to realise why! Boasting unspoiled panoramic views, traditionally restored barns and farmhouse, they also have the most attentive, caring staff who wanted to go the extra mile to make the day as perfect as it should be. This for us was what sealed the deal! You could have the most perfect venue in the world, but if the staff and coordinators aren’t polite, attentive and eager then what good is the rest!”

Tips for Future Couples

“Hind sight is a wonderful thing and I’m pleased to be able to say that there is nothing I would have changed/altered about our day.

The one thing I wish I had prepared more for are the post wedding blues. You do hear most brides mention them, but I honestly thought they were just joking, or that it was just a momentary thing that lasted a day or 2. How wrong I was!! Those blues have come up and smacked me square in the face. Remember that episode of Friends, after Monica and Chandler have got married, where she’s just realised she’ll never be a bride again and is now “just a wife”? Yup, that’s me!

I’m still trying to work out what the resolution to this is myself, but what I do know is I wish I had prepared more for the after wedding period”
