Green Tourism Trevenna, Caring for Cornwall. Our Green Tourism Policy - Gold leaf awarded April 2008 Cornwall is a unique county with diverse coastal, rural and moor landscapes. The farm land of Trevenna makes up 142 acres of this fragile environment and the business works towards reducing the 'footprint' we leave behind us. Trevenna's sustainable practices aim to help conserve the Cornish environment, contribute to the Cornish economy and give something back to the community of Cornwall.
CoaST Trevenna is a member The Cornwall Sustainable Tourism Project, CoaST, which provides intensive assistance throughout Cornwall to develop excellent sustainable practices. Issues tackled include:- - Recyling. Every barn has recycling bins.
- Reducing energy. The underfloor heating, hot water and swimming pool (2009) are heated by one wood chip burner.
- Water usage. Drinking water, water for showers and the swimming pool rises naturally from a spring below Trevenna.
- Sourcing local produce. Complimentary breakfast packs include organic local meats and jams.
