Trevenna is steeped in history being founded as a monastery in the 1300's. It was developed by the Rowe family as a farm in the 1600's and into luxury accommodation and a wedding venue during 2006/2007. Trevenna has now been in the Rowe family for over 5 generations and remains today a family run business.
Tunnelled deep under the fields is the first mine in Cornwall to generate electricity. The stones used to build the monastery and barns were all quarried from the site. Trevenna is also home to three types of bats, including the rare greater horseshoe bat.
Built just under the brow of a hill, above a wooded valley and the river loveny, Trevenna enjoys far reaching views to the south and has protection from the north winds.
Restoration took place 2006 & 2007 on 5 of the barns at Trevenna. The loft the 6th and final barn to be restored was completed in 2010. The restoration of the farmhouse is still ongoing.
A detailed guide of the restoration can be found in each barn.
